Abstract Rural roads are the backbone to any country and is always a key for sustainable development. often considered as an entry point poverty alleviation employment generation. Connectivity achieved in different levels of hierarchy through traditional hierarchical structure – National Highways, State Major District Roads, Other Village achieving long term objective adequate road communication India. The policies connectivity villages followed mainly by population criteria. be planned from travel behaviour activity generation, which depends on various profiles like demographic, socio economic profiles, facility profile impedance values. This methodology proposes strategic model that characterizes varying area accounts demand based these profiles. An integrated clustering analysis GIS has been formulated assessing potential thereby giving orientation hierarchal rural network configuration. promises scientific tool it was validated with existing higher order such highways region. study attempted Medak district Telangana state.
